Volkswagen Tiguan Exclusive Edition launched at Rs 33.49 lakh

The German automotive giant Volkswagen’s Indian subsidiary Volkswagen India recently launched an all-new Exclusive Edition of its top-of-the-line luxury SUV Tiguan. The company has introduced this new Exclusive Edition at a starting price of Rs 33.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Tiguan Exclusive edition will come available in Pure White and Oryx White exterior body colours. As for the updates in the new edition, they are minimal and only superficial.

Commenting on the launch of the all-new Tiguan Exclusive addition, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said, “The Volkswagen Tiguan is our global best-seller that has received a phenomenal response from customers. We are delighted to introduce the ‘Exclusive Edition’ on the Tiguan with additional design and utilitarian features that further enhance the appeal of the car. Built on the globally acclaimed MQB platform, the Volkswagen Tiguan offers an impeccable combination of style, performance, premium- ness, safety, functionality and class-leading features.

Apart from the exterior colour choices, the Exclusive Edition Tiguan boasts a set of new 18-inch Sebring alloy wheels with a silver finish, dynamic hubcaps (which stay put as the wheels move), a load sill protector at the back, and limited edition badging on the B-pillar over the ordinary Tiguan. Aluminium pedals with a sportier appearance and Exclusive Edition badging are included within the Exclusive Edition. Other than these the car is mostly identical to a standard Tiguan.

Other highlights of the Tiguan include sports intelligent and adaptable LED matrix headlights with IQ, a 20.32cm touchscreen infotainment system with gesture control, illuminated scuff plates, USB C-ports, Vienna leather seats, a soft touch dashboard, 30 different shades of multicoloured ambient lighting, a flat bottom multi-function steering wheel, a three-zone Climatronic air conditioning system with touch control, and a panoramic sunroof.

Furthermore, the SUV also gets driving assist technology along with six airbags, an anti-lock braking system (ABS), ESC, anti-slip regulation (ASR), EDL, hill start assist, hill descent control, engine drag torque control, active TPMS, three headrests in the back, three-point seat belts, ISOFIX, and driver alert systems as standard equipment.

In terms of the powertrain, the Volkswagen Tiguan is powered by a 2.0L TSI engine mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission with 4MOTION technology. It produces a peak power of 190 PS and 320 Nm of peak torque delivering a fuel efficiency of 12.65 kmpl (ARAI certified).

In other Volkswagen news, the Latin N-CAP recently tested the base model of a Volkswagen Virtus manufactured in India and sold in the Mexican market. The car received a five-star rating. The head, neck, and knees of the driver and passenger were well protected by the brand-new Virtus, according to the Latin N-official CAP’s test report. Both the driver’s and the passenger’s chests were also well protected. Both the footwell region and the body shell were classified as stable as well.
