Volkswagen Tiguan TVC released after official launch

Volkswagen has released an official commercial advertisement of its new addition to its Indian lineup, the new Tiguan. The new commercial displays all the new features which make the Tiguan much more appealing than the older model which was on sale till the BS6 emission norms kicked in.

In the new commercial, we can see a number of highlighted features of the Tiguan displayed while the SUV rolls down on the urban roads. The features highlighted in the commercial are LED Matrix headlights with IQ.Light technology from Volkswagen, which makes it the best and brightest headlamps in the segment to which the Tiguan belongs. These headlamps are way better than the regular LED headlamps offered by the rivals, as they offer a longer range of illumination.

While the overall silhouette and stance of the new Volkswagen Tiguan remain unchanged, there are a few minute sheet metal changes, which freshen up its appeal. The new bits on the Tiguan include a redesigned front grille, sleeker all-LED headlamps, reprofiled front and rear bumpers with revised fog lamps on the former, new design for the 18-inch machined alloy wheels, revised LED inserts for the tail lamps and wide ‘Tiguan’ lettering in the middle of the boot lid.

The new Volkswagen Tiguan gets some minute changes on the inside, with the SUV sharing its cabin with the global version of its seven-seater version, the Tiguan AllSpace. There’s a new three-spoke steering wheel with the new VW logo and a slightly revised lower centre console with a touch-controlled panel for automatic climate control.

Available only with a petrol engine option

Following the petrol-only route in the BS6 era, the new Volkswagen Tiguan ditches the previously available 2.0-litre diesel engine for a new 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This is the same engine that powers other cars from the Volkswagen group, like Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace, Skoda Octavia, Skoda Superb and even Audi Q2. Available with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, the engine makes 190 PS of maximum power and 320 Nm of maximum torque.

It will be available with features like Vienna leather upholstery, 30-colour ambient light, 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with three memory settings, three-zone automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, full TFT instrument console and more. In terms of safety, the SUV retains its entire safety features list, with includes front, side and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, hill start assist, hill descent control, ISOFIX mounts for child seats, driver alert system and tyre pressure monitoring system. The new Tiguan facelift is priced at Rs 31.99 lakh and is available as a CKD model
