Car manufacturers in India have started offering subscription services. Manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki, Nissan, Hyundai and MG Motor are offering this service to their customer. Volkswagen India introduced this feature with Polo and Vento and now one can subscribe to a Virtus sedan on a monthly basis too. Volkswagen discontinued Polo and Vento from the market and under this subscription plan one can subscribe to Virtus and Taigun SUV. The monthly subscription amount for Volkswagen Virtus sedan starts at Rs 26,987. Along with the subscription, Volkswagen has also announced Power Lease model for the sedan.

Under the subscription program, a customer can now own a car on a monthly basis by paying Rs 26,987, ex-showroom on a monthly basis. The monthly rental that the owner pays would cover registration, insurance, service and more. Speaking about the subscription and power lease services, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director – Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said, “Brand Volkswagen has always been at the forefront of offering innovative mobility solutions that cater to varied customer needs. If you are interested in opting for the subscription model, the customer can do that by making a security deposit and advance rental payment of one month. Customers can choose the tenure of subscription. The tenure of the plan varies from two to four years. During this time, the insurance, scheduled services, unscheduled repairs would all be covered.

The Power Lease option is similar to the regular subscription model. Just like the subscription service, you can opt for Power Lease by simply making one months rental as security deposit and advance rental. Even the tenure of this model is also between two to four years. The benefit of this model is that even after the tenure is over, the customer has the option to retain the vehicle at just 20 percent of the ex-showroom price. Customers can also opt for re-financing options while there will be service value packages which would include insurance too. Power Lease model is slightly more expensive than regular subscription. The monthly rental for Virtus sedan under the Power Lease program is Rs 29,991, ex-showroom.
Volkswagen Taigun has replaced the Vento sedan in India
Coming to the Volkswagen Virtus sedan. It is the second product launched by Volkswagen under their India 2.0 Strategy. It is a replacement to the Volkswagen Vento sedan. It is the most spacious sedan in its segment. It competes with cars like Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Skoda Slavia in the segment. Volkswagen is offering features like ventilated front seats, fully digital instrument cluster, electric sunroof, leather upholstery, automatic climate control, cruise control and son on. It is offered with a 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine with manual and 6-speed automatic transmission and a 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine with DSG gearbox only.
