Volvo S90 to be launched in September; Bookings open from next week

The upcoming executive sedan from Volvo, the S90, is expected to be launched in September this year. The car will replace the S80, and will sit atop the Volvo sedan line-up in the country. Bookings for the same can start as early as next week.

To start with, Volvo will bring the front-wheel drive, D4 diesel engined version (188 hp). Sharing its platform with the XC90, the S90 might also get a more powerful D5 variant (232 hp) along with all-wheel drive soon after.

Pricing the S90 will be crucial, and Overdrive suggests that it will be priced at Rs 57 lakh. That will give you sharp styling on the outside — with Thor’s Hammer headlamps etc. — and a luxurious cabin inside. The center console comprises a large touchscreen infotainment system and AC vents on its sides. The top-spec Inscription will have more leather and wood treatment, as seen on the XC90.

And the R-Design version (below) looks HOT. Fingers crossed Volvo India brings this one as well.
