The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is the best-selling model in the mid-size sedan segment in India. It takes on the likes of the Honda City, Toyota Yaris, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento in the market. Because of the high demand, the waiting period on the Suzuki Ciaz is the highest compared to the rivals. While Honda City gets the lowest waiting period.

According to CarDekho data, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz buyers have to wait for a month in the cities like Mumbai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Chandigarh and Patna. In other cities like Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata, the Ciaz is readily available. In comparison, the Honda City has the highest waiting period of 25 days in Chennai and Hyderabad while in other cities like Chandigarh, Indore, Pune the Honda City is available readily or with a waiting period of a week. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is sold only through the premium Nexa dealership network of the brand. The facelifted version of the Ciaz was launched in the market last year and it became the first Maruti Suzuki car to get the 1.5-litre petrol engine that has been developed in-house by the brand. It gets powered by three engine options. There are two diesel engine options and a petrol engine option.

The petrol variants of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz are powered by the 1.5-litre with SHVS mild-hybrid system. It generates a maximum power of 103 Bhp and a peak torque of 138 Nm. It gets a 5-speed manual or an automatic transmission. The Ciaz is also offered with the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine that generates a maximum power of 89 Bhp and peak torque of 200 Nm. It also gets the SHVS mild hybrid system that ensures an extremely high fuel efficiency of 28.09 km/l, which makes it the highest rated fuel efficient car in India. It only gets a 5-speed manual transmission. Recently, Maruti Suzuki also added the 1.5-litre all-new diesel engine to the Ciaz that generates a maximum power of 94 Bhp and 224 Nm. It does not gets the SHVS system and is available with a 5-speed transmission.
