Maruti Suzuki has launched the much-awaited XL6 MPV in the Indian car market. The new 6-seater car based on the Ertiga is a premium product. The XL6 will be sold through the Nexa sales network of Maruti Suzuki. Watch the launch live right here.

Maruti Suzuki has officially revealed the name of the car and it will be available in two variants. The official pictures of the car reveal that it gets a completely different front-end, which is much sportier than the regular Ertiga. The changes include an all-new grille, all-new headlamps with LED lamps, new front and rear bumpers, new skid plates and a whole body cladding that adds a very muscular and rugged look to the car. The XL6 will look quite different from the Ertiga and clearly, Maruti Suzuki has put in an effort to ensure that there are a lot of differentiating points when comparing both the vehicles. Apart from the cladding, the side look of the Ertiga remains the same. However, a new set of all-black alloy wheels have been added.

Maruti Suzuki has also revealed glimpses of the cabin and the dashboard through a few videos. The cabin of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga gets an all-black theme, which is different from the regular Ertiga’s beige colour. Also, the dashboard now gets a single tone black theme with piano black inserts. It ensures that the cabin looks extremely premium. Even the wooden inserts in the dashboard have been updated and now they are also of the dark theme.

However, the major highlight of the cabin is the middle row. In the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the middle row seat is a bench set-up with space for 3 occupants. In the XL6, the middle row bench seat has been replaced with two captain seats, which makes the car a 6-seater vehicle. This ensures a more comfortable journey and ample space for the middle row passengers.

The Maruti Suzuki XL6 will only be offered in two variants. Both the variants are expected to be pretty loaded with features like cruise control, 7.0-inch SmartPlay display, tilt-adjustable steering, automatic climate control system, LED headlamps, LED DRL, electronic stability program, dual front airbags, leatherette seats and more.

Since Maruti Suzuki has decided to not offer a diesel engine option in the Indian market after the implementation of the BS6 regulations in the market next year, the new XL6 will not offer the diesel engine at all. It will only offer a single 1.5-litre petrol engine that is also available with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. There will be both automatic and manual transmission options available with the XL6.
