Sachin Tendulkar is a known car enthusiast and has a range of exotic cars in his garage. The former-cricket player is the brand ambassador of BMW India and has a range of BMWs including the i8 at his disposal. Sachin has been seen quite a few times driving his own cars on the streets of Mumbai and this is the latest instance where the Master Blaster can be seen enjoying an early morning drive with other supercars in Mumbai.
Sachin was spotted driving the hybrid sports car on the Mumbai roads on Sunday morning. The video also shows other sports cars on the stretch but we are not sure if Sachin was with the group or he was enjoying his solo drive. Sachin was spotted driving in his BMW i8, which is a hybrid sports car. It was originally in white colour but Sachin customised it to make it even more unique. The i8 owned by Sachin gets a red body paint with blue accents that makes it one-of-its-kind in India.
The hybrid car gets a small 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that churns out a massive 231 Bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. The petrol engine is mated to an electric motor that produces 131 Bhp and 250 Nm. Combined, both the powertrains produce a maximum of 362 Bhp and 570 Nm. The BMW i8 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds, making it quite quick.
The i8 is very lightweight, thanks to its carbon fibre construction. The cabin tub in the chassis is completely made out of carbon fibre that increases the rigidity of the vehicle too. The BMW i8 has become the world’s best selling plug-in hybrid car due to its unique styling and the powertrain.
Sachin also owns a BMW 760 Li M-Sport, BMW X5 M, BMW M6 Gran Coupe, BMW M5 and a BMW M5 30. He still owns the Maruti 800, which was his first car. Sachin has also owned the Nissan GT-R and the Ferrari 360 Modena in the past.
