The Citroen C3 is a hatchback, but the C3 Aircross is a proper mid-size SUV. In size, it is similar to the Creta, Seltos and bigger than the Volkswagen Taigun or Skoda Kushaq. It is designed and manufactured in India, and that means low prices and cheap maintenance, hopefully.
The C3 Aircross has classic Citroen looks from the front. It has an upright stance which is typical of pseudo-SUVs. It is a pretty handsome-looking car in our opinion. The color red, or the red and white dual tone option, seems to look best on the C3 Aircross.
The all-new C3 Aircross will be 4.3m in length, the same length as the Hyundai Creta. It is slightly smaller than the Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. IThe Citroen though is longer than the Skoda Kushaq and the Volkswagen Taigun.
The C3 Aircross is the ONLY mid-size SUV with a 7 seat option! The 3rd row is cramped, yes. But the option is something that buyers would love. And best thing is that the third row can be fully removed to free up enormous luggage space!
Now that's what puts a damper on everything. The C3 Aircross will come with the same 1.2 litre turbo petrol engine that we have seen in teh C3 hatchback. It produces 110 BHP and 190Nm of torque. Those numbers are decent, but not great. There is only a 6-speed manual transmission at launch, though an automatic transmission would soon be introduced.
you miss out on Automatic Climate Control! This is a downer. You get Aple CarPlay, Android Auto, 10inch screen, another 7 inch screen. All of that is great, but no Auto AC is a definite miss in the current market. Citroen may decide to introduce it just before launch - we can hope!
