The New Hyundai Fluidic Verna has been a hit in the market with over 20,000 bookings already. The car has proved its mettle by standing its ground in a segment teeming with options by selling over 4,000 units in May alone. Here we take a closer look at the Verna’s design and key features.
Menacing Front: The Verna has an aggressive and sporty stance thanks to its ‘eagle eyed’ headlamps and chrome grille. The cars design stays true to its name and the car sports sharp fluidic lines on the hood as well. The front bumpers too are muscular and house ‘L’ shaped fog lamps which compliment the vehicles characteristics.
The Sporty Rear: From the sides the Verna appears well crafted and has a sharp character line which starts from the front and seamlessly blends into the tail lamp. The Verna also sports chunky alloy wheels which add to its sporty appearance. The rear bumpers sport two small red reflective slats which increase the visibility of the car while driving at night.
Spacious Boot: The Verna also has a large and spacious 455 litre boot which will fit in three to four medium sized suitcases. The boot lid has been embellished by a sleek chrome slat which also houses the Hyundai logo. The tail lamps are neat and sorted but have an uncanny similarity to the older generation Honda City.
Push Start: One of the many highlights of the Verna is the push start and stop button. This is available only on the top end variants. The car comes with an electronic remote key which just needs to be near the car for the car to start. The key also allows the user to open the boot of the car with the press of a button.
Instrument Cluster: The Verna’s instrument cluster is easy on the eye thanks to the calm blue back light. The instrument cluster houses a small multi information display which allows the driver to access important information at a glance. It displays a gear shift indicator, outside temperature, trip meters etc.
Comfortable Interiors: The Verna’s insides are upholstered in beige leather and the seats are comfortable. They provide ample back and under thigh support as well. The Verna also has a small arm rest which the driver can slide into position depending on his comfort.
In-Car Entertainment: The car sports a 2 DIN audio system, with AM/FM and a CD player. There are also provisions to use cell phones, mp3 players and i-pods for in car entertainment, thanks to the USB port and an Aux in. It also supports Bluetooth allowing users to play music wirelessly via their Bluetooth enabled phones and other such devices.
Climate Control: The Verna has an effective air-conditioner. It has automatic climate control which allows the user to select either an auto cooling option or set temperature depending on his or her convenience.
Steering Wheel: An attractive looking 3-spoke steering wheel which is easy to grip makes driving the Verna a pleasure. The steering wheel has audio controls which allow the driver to surf channels and control volume without taking his hands off the steering wheel. There are also buttons to receive and drop calls once the driver has synced his phone with the car via Bluetooth.
Safety Features: The Verna has six airbags apart from ABS and EBD to keep its passengers safe. There are two side airbags, two curtain airbags and one airbag each for the driver and the front passenger.
Cooled Glove Box: Hyundai has provided a cooled glove box on the Verna which can be used to store items like cold drinks, water bottles, and confectionaries etc that require cooling. The glove box offers reasonable storage space and can easily store most documents and kink knacks.
Parking Camera: The highlights on the Verna’s feature list are its rear parking camera and sensors. The rear camera’s display unit is integrated into the rear view mirror. The display also shows guidelines making reversing the car easier in cramped parking spaces.
