MS Dhoni, the captain of the Indian cricket team, is a massive bike nut. From having a garage full of Yamaha RD350s to some of the world’s fastest superbikes, this man clearly loves his big toys. The Indian cricket team is currently touring Zimbabwe.
On his tour, MS Dhoni hopped on to a cop’s Kawasaki Concours 14 sports tourer to get a feel of the machine. Yes, the cops in that African nation have some seriously fast wheels, and MS Dhoni just took a ride on one of the world’s fastest supersport touring motorcycle.
Here in India, Dhoni owns a Kawasaki ZX-14R, and the Concours 14 is essentially a sports tourer version of this mad machine. The bike gets the same 1,352 cc inline-four cylinder engine of the ZX-14R but with slight detuning(156 Bhp-140 Nm). The ZX-14R on the other hand, makes 197 Bhp-162.5 Nm.
While the Concours 14 is heavier by about 45 Kgs, it also has a better seat and improved ergonomics. It also gets an adjustable windscreen and useful luggage mounts. All in all, the Concours 14 is meant to be ridden over longer distances while the ZX-14R is more of a all-out performance bike.
