Mahindra recently launched their all-new Scorpio N SUV in India. It was one of the most anticipated products from Mahindra this year. A lot of research has gone into the development of this brand new SUV. The all-new Scorpio N is a lot more technologically advanced and feature rich when compared to Scorpio Classic. It is a lot more safer than its predecessor. Here we have a video of Mr. R Velusamy, Product head of Mahindra explaining what makes Scorpio N, the strongest Scorpio ever built.
The video has been uploaded by Motor Vikatan on their YouTube channel. In this video, the anchor talks to the product head of Mahindra R Velusamy about the technology and work that went into the Scorpio N. Velusamy can be heard saying in the video that Mahindra’s aim was to create an SUV which will offer comfortable drive, features, higher refinement levels and interior space at an affordable price tag.

Velusamy mentions the Scorpio N offers best in class visibility, commanding seating position, head room, cabin roominess, first and second row space, off-road capability. The Scorpio N offers 3 percent more shoulder room than any other D segment SUV. Mahindra has also worked on keeping the centre of gravity low for less body roll, handling and stability at higher speeds and corners. He mentions that although the Scoprio N is a large SUV, driving it in the city won’t be a huge task as it offers great visibility and feather light steering at lower speeds.
He then comes to the shell of the Scorpio N. Velusamy mentions that the all-new Scorpio N comes with a light weight shell. The shell is in fact 13 percent lighter than what is offered in other cars in the segment. A lightweight shell helps in decreasing the body roll which is normally felt in ladder on frame vehicles. A lightweight shell on the SUV does not mean it is not stiff or not safe. The shell of the SUV is made from Advanced High Strength Steel and Ultra High Strength Steel, which makes the cabin a safe place for the passengers. This set up has helped Mahindra bring down the weight without compromising on safety.
Mahindra Scorpio N offers a long list of features. Inside the cabin it gets a large touchscreen infotainment screen, nulti-function steering wheel, cruise control, connected car features, Alexa connectivity, leather seat upholstery, dual-zone climate control, electric sunroof, rear AC vents and so on. Mahindra will be offering Scorpio N with both petrol and diesel engine options. Both petrol and diesel engine options are available with manual and automatic transmission options.
Mahindra is yet to announce the price for the automatic variants of the Scorpio N. The price for Mahindra Scorpio N starts at Rs 11.99 lakh, ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 19.49 lakh. Only the top-end diesel variant will be offered with a 4WD system. The petrol version of the SUV uses a 2.0 litre turbocharged engine while the diesel version uses a 2.2 litre turbocharged engine which is offered in two states of tune.
