Deliveries of the BS6 R15 will begin from the 3rd week of December, 2019, well ahead of the March 31st, 2020 deadline for BS6 compliance. The motorcycle is available in three colours: Thunder Grey, Racing Blue and Darknight Black. The Yamaha R15 V3.0 in Racing Blue paint scheme also gets blue coloured alloy wheels. A rear radial tyre, dual horn and a side-stand engine cut off are new features that will be standard on the BS6 Yamaha R15.

As for specifications, the 155cc, four stroke single cylinder engine loses some top-end power in BS6 trim. The liquid cooled motor makes 18.34 Bhp at 10,000 rpm, which is down from 19 Bhp in the BS4 trim. The torque output of 14.1 Nm produced at 8,500 rpm is also lower than the BS4 trim’s 14.6 Nm output. The fuel injected engine gets a four valve head running a single overhead camshaft, and a 6 speed manual gearbox with slipper clutch is standard.

The R15 gets disc brakes on both wheels with dual channel ABS, telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock for suspension, and a highly acclaimed Deltabox frame that gives it excellent handling. The R15 3.0 BS6 continues to be styled similar to the BS4 version, with a full fairing and an aggressive riding position thanks to clip-on handlebars and rear set footpegs.
