Yamaha to show R15 V3.0, R3 & new 125cc scooter at Auto Expo 2018

Yamaha Motor India, the Japanese two wheeler giant’s Indian operation, plans to show three new products at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo. The R15 Version 3.0 sportsbike, the BS4 compliant R3 twin cylinder sportsbike and a new 125cc automatic scooter are the three new two wheelers that Yamaha plans to display at the Expo. All 3 two wheelers will be launched in India during 2018.

Yamaha R15 Version 3.0

This bike has already been spotted testing in India, and will be the third generation model of the popular R15 series. Like the previous R15s, the V3.0 model will be an affordable sportsbike that can be used both on the road as well as the racetrack. It is expected to use a slightly larger 155cc engine with more power and torque. Styling will get minor revisions and a few new features are also expected to be added.

Yamaha R3 BS4

Yamaha discontinued the twin cylinder R3 sportsbike from the Indian market when the BS4 emission norms were introduced in April last year. The company has now developed a BS4 emission norms-compliant R3, which it’ll launch during 2018. The bike gets a mild makeover with new paint schemes but the rest of the mechanical and cycle parts are unchanged. The R3 will continue to use a 321cc, parallel twin four stroke engine. ABS may be offered as standard on the new bike.

Nozza Grande-based 125cc automatic scooter

Yamaha has been spotted testing the Nozza Grande 125cc automatic scooter on Indian roads. An Indianized version of this scooter is expected to be shown at the 2018 Auto Expo, followed by a launch later in the year. This scooter is likely to pack in retro-styling. It’s expected to take on the new Suzuki Access 125 in terms of pricing, and the Vespa VX125 range of scooters in terms of styling.
