Youtuber with sunroof leak has new issue: Mahindra Scorpio-N sunroof won’t close [Video]

Last week, social media platforms were buzzing with the videos of Scorpio-N’s leaking sunroof. The owner of the car and Mahindra got into a social media tussle after Mahindra put a video of a Scorpio-N under the same waterfall. While both Mahindra and the owner of the car Arun Pawar are exchanging videos on social media, the Scorpio-N’s sunroof got stuck completely and is not working at all.

Soon after the first video put up by Arun Pawar, which showed that the sunroof of Mahindra Scorpio-N got stuck after the water leaking issue, new videos show that it remained stuck and did not work at all. After the water entered the cabin of the Scorpio-N, the car’s electrical units were not working properly. The infotainment system stopped and the sunroof also stopped working.

The owner of the Scorpio-N – Arun Panwar was in the Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh, which is a remote location. He did not take the vehicle back to the service centre and continued with his journey. The infotainment system of the Scorpio-N started working after a few minutes but the sunroof unit remained stuck mid-way.

The owner and his friend took the car to various places in Himachal Pradesh and the sunroof remained stuck midway through the journey. They somehow managed to put on the sunroof blind though. They took the car through negative temperatures and snowfall like this and faced a lot of problems.

What caused the leakage?

While Mahindra replied by taking another Scorpio-N to the same waterfall location in Himachal Pradesh, they are yet to diagnose Arun Pawar’s car and reveal the exact reason for the sunroof failure, which caused the leakage.

The owner of the car has said that Mahindra’s stunt of taking another Scorpio-N to the same location and showing that the other vehicle did not face any leakage does not answer many questions. Arun Pawar alleges that his car faced a rubber seal issue, which caused the water to enter the cabin. The other units of the Mahindra Scorpio-N may not have the same issue. We are not sure if Arun Pawar gave his car for an official diagnosis at any of the Mahindra service centres yet.

But there are cars that can withstand such waterfalls. In the past, videos of many vehicles including the Hyundai Creta show that vehicles can handle such waterfalls without a problem. It can be a one-off case for the Mahindra Scorpio-N as well.
