Mahindra Bolero modified into a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon [video]

Mahindra Thar is currently one of the most affordable 4×4 SUVs in India. We are all aware of the fact that the SUV looks a lot like American 4×4 SUV Jeep Wrangler. With previous generation, people have been making modification to make it look like a Jeep Wrangler and the current generation has a design that leans more towards Jeep Wrangler. There are other Mahindra SUVs that are currently being used as donor vehicles for Jeep Wrangler modifications and Bolero is one of them. Here we have one such video, where a Mahindra Bolero is neatly converted or modified to look like a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.

The video has been published by Dayakaran vlogs on their YouTube channel. In this video, vlogger shows all the modifications that were done to the car to make it look like a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Vlogger starts by talking about the front of the car. The front end of the car gets a custom made metal grille with vertical slats like Jeep. Jeep lettering is also seen here. The car gets round aftermarket LED headlamps with ring type LED DRLs and turn indicators are placed on the lower part of the grille.

The bumper is completely made of metal and is a custom unit. Fog lamps are integrated in it and an LED light bar is also installed on it. Most of the panels on this Bolero have been custom made. The fender are made from metal and the bonnet Rubicon sticker installed on it. Bonnet locking clips are also installed on it. The ORVMs on this SUV are also aftermarket units that look similar to the one seen on Wrangler. First thing about this SUV that one would note on the side profile are the wheels. It gets 22 inch aftermarket alloy wheels wrapped in low profile tyres.

The Bolero sits higher than the stock version as it comes with a 10 inch lift kit. There is a metal rock slider and the rear fender on this SUV is also flared. It does not look like a Mahindra Bolero anymore. There are sharp and edgy looking corners with custom made roof. At the rear, there is a metal bumper, 22 inch spare wheel, LED tail lamps and a redesigned tailgate.

Moving in, the SUV gets a completely different looking cabin. The dashboard has actually been borrowed from a previous generation Mahindra Thar. The dashboard and the roof are all wrapped in black leatherette material with red coloured diamond stitching. The seats also get similar type of upholstery. Unlike Mahindra Thar, Bolero is a 5-door SUV and that makes entry and exit of passengers to rear seat very easy.

The steering is an aftermarket unit with Jeep logo in the middle. The roof gets twin moon roof and the rear passenger seat supports slide and recline function for passenger comfort. This modification work on this Mahindra Thar has been done by Big Daddy Modifiers, Jalandhar, Punjab. Video does mention that the owner of this vehicle wanted the car to look like a Wrangler and that is why they went ahead with this project.
