Volkswagen Polo & Vento Matt Edition launched

Volkswagen has launched the matt edition of the Polo and the Vento before the festive season. Volkswagen Polo Matt Edition is based on the GT variant and is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh while the Vento Matt Edition is available in two variants and the price starts at Rs 11.94 lakh. Prices ex-showroom.

The Volkswagen Polo Matt Edition is based on the GT variant of the premium hatchback. The Vento Matt Edition, on the other hand, is available only with Highline and Highline Plus. Only automatic variants of the Vento and Polo are available with the special colour job.

Commenting on the announcement, Mr Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said,

Today, I am delighted to launch the limited Matt edition models of both the carlines for our discerning customers, who want to stand out from the crowd. We are confident our customers will thoroughly enjoy driving these cars with an understated elegance, which offer superior quality, German engineering and TSI powered fun-to-drive experience.”

The Polo and Vento Matt Edition will be available at all the Volkswagen dealerships from 5th October, which is today. The manufacturer has mentioned that both these vehicles will be available in a limited number. However, the exact numbers are not available.

No mechanical changes

Both the cars have no mechanical changes. Both get powered by the 1.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 110 PS and peak torque of 175 Nm. Only the 6-speed automatic torque convertor is available with both models.

With the standard variants of the Polo and Vento, a naturally-aspirated 1.0-litre petrol engine too. It generates a maximum power of 76 PS and peak torque of 95 Nm. The naturally-aspirated engines only get a five-speed manual transmission.

The exterior of both the carlines, including the roof, fuel flap, front and rear bumper will have a Carbon Steel Grey Matt finish, whereas the ORVM and door handles will come with a black glossy finish, giving it a sporty and premium look.

The cabin also gets a new dark dual-tone theme. The changes also include Alcantara leather inserts on the seats of the matt edition models. The features from the standard variant have been carried over too. There is an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, multi-function steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, cooled glove box, cornering lights and many more.
