Bajaj Pulsar NS400: Design and Specifications

The Bajaj Pulsar NS400 continues to boast the same iconic silhouette of its predecessors while introducing several noteworthy upgrades. The front of the new Pulsar NS400 now features a new headlamp with a unique projector. This single projector headlamp will be flanked by lightning bolt-shaped DRLs.

Apart from this aggressive-looking front fascia, the bike also gets borrowed rearview mirrors from the Dominar 400. They also look very similar to the ones that come on the KTM 250 and 390 Duke.

Other highlights of the new Pulsar NS400 include its more aggressive and muscular bodywork. The biggest Pulsar now gets new tank extensions and radiator shrouds. All of these elements add to the bike’s muscular appeal.

Underneath its sleek and aggressive styling, the NS400 shares a lot of components with the Dominar 400 and NS200. The NS400 gets newer brake units and possibly a revised USD fork. It will also come with a preload monoshock suspension at the rear.

At the heart of the NS400 lies the same 373cc engine as its cruiser sibling, Dominar 400. This powerplant is capable of delivering an estimated 40 horsepower and 35 Nm of torque. This engine setup will help Bajaj in positioning the NS400 as a lighter and more budget-friendly alternative in the 400cc naked motorcycle segment. This above-mentioned engine will come mated to a six-speed gearbox.

Pulsar NS400: Expected Price Point

Speculations about the pricing of the new Pulsar NS400 hint at a very lucrative price point of under Rs 2 lakh. If this does come to fruition, it will make the NS400 an attractive option for riders seeking premium performance at a reasonable cost. More conservative estimates of pricing are around Rs 2-20 lakh.

As for the competition that the Pulsar NS400 will be facing once launched in the country, the bike will have to compete with the KTM Duke 390 and KTM Apache 310R. It will also be taking on the BMW G 310 R and its very own sibling, Dominar 400.
