The King of Good Times as Vijay Mallya was frequently known, owned a lot of exotic cars in his days. But now the flamboyant businessman is only covered in news only for the wrong reasons. One of the cars that were owned by Vijay Mallya was a Mercedes-Benz S600. Here, are some of the current pictures of the luxury sedan – still looks good, right?

The car in the pictures we see is a W221 model of S-Class. It is finished in Sand Beige Metallic colour which does look quite elegant. The pictures are shared in a Facebook post on Automobili Ardent. The post also says that this S600 was used by Vijay Mallya in Banglore.

The W221 generation was launched by Mercedes-Benz in 2005. Vijay Mallya’s S-Class was equipped with the V12 petrol engine. It had a capacity of 5.5-litres and was a bi-turbo unit. The engine produced 510 hp of max power and 830 Nm of peak torque. It could hit a ton in 4.6 seconds and had a top speed of 250 kmph which was limited from the factory.

Vijay Mallya’s other cars were also spotted

This is not the first car that has been spotted on the Indian roads. Vijay’s cars are now owned by other people because the UK court-ordered to auction off his expensive supercars. The reason behind this was pretty obvious, Vijay Mallya owes Rs. 10,000 Crores to the Indian banks.

Most of the vehicles that Vijay Mallya owned had a custom number plate on them. The Maybach 62 had ‘VJM1’, his Ferrari read ‘BO55 VJM’, the Porsche Cayenne’s number plate said ‘OO07 VJM’ and his Range Rover’s ‘F1 VJM’. The F1 in Range Rover’s number plate indicated his Formula 1 team whereas Porsche’s number plate referred to James Bond. The Ferrar’s number plate was designed to refer to him as boss.

Maybach 62

Last year, Vijay Mallya’s Maybach 62 was spotted in Mumbai. When Maybach launched the 62, it was one of the most luxurious vehicles that you could get. It was priced at Rs. 5.80 Crores in 2012. That was too much for the Indian market. Moreover, many people have not heard of Maybach but they did know about its competitor, the Rolls Royce Phantom. The Maybach 62 came with a  5.5-litre V12 was mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox with Overdrive. The luxury vehicle could produce 543 hp of max power and a peak torque output of 664 Nm.

Another vehicle that was spotted on the Indian roads was the W140 series of S-Class. It is finished in Arctic White and was spotted quite recently. It is now registered in Karnataka and it is the S 280 trim which was one of the best selling trims when this generation of S-Class was on sale.

Moreover, W140 was the first S-Class to come with a V12 engine. It was a 2.8-litre unit that produced 190 bhp of max power and 270 Nm of peak torque. The numbers might not seem powerful now but remember the W140 series was launched back in 1991.
