India’s largest SUV maker, Mahindra Automotive, has once again expanded the XUV700’s lineup. It has now introduced the new AX5 Select (AX5 S) variant. This new mid-spec variant has been launched with a price tag of Rs 16.89 lakh for the petrol manual version. According to the company, this variant has been positioned between the AX3 and AX5 trims. Additionally, it only comes available in a seven-seater layout.

Mahindra XUV700 AX5 Select: Details

The XUV700 AX5 Select variant, with its seven-seat configuration, aims to cater to the needs of bigger families. The model on the outside will look pretty much the same as the AX5 variant. It will also come loaded with a ton of premium features. The list of these features includes the panoramic sunroof, also called the Skyroof, dual connected 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and digital cluster screens.

Other features of the new AX5 Select variant will be in-built navigation with native maps, push button start, wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay compatibility, and Adrenox with 75+ connected features.

It will also get Amazon Alexa built-in, 6 speakers with sound staging, LED DRL, 2nd-row map lamps, tilt-adjustable steering, electrically adjustable ORVMs, arrow-head LED tail lamps, and full-sized wheel covers.

Mahindra XUV700 AX5: Pricing

Coming to powertrain options offered with the new AX5 Select variant of the XUV700, it will get the same petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant, priced at Rs 16.89 lakh, is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. Meanwhile, the diesel variant has been priced at Rs 17.49 lakh. It features a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine.

The petrol engine makes 200 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the diesel motor is offered with different tunes. The less powerful tune offers 155 bhp and 355 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the more powerful tune churns out 185 bhp and 420 Nm of torque. The torque figure gets bumped up to 450 Nm in the automatic variant.

Both engines come with the choice of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Mahindra is offering the automatic variants with an additional cost of Rs 1.6 lakh. The new AX5 S variant is Rs 50,000 more than the AX3, but it is cheaper by Rs 1.3 lakh when compared to the AX5 seven-seater option.

Mahindra XUV700 MX Seven-Seater Also Launched

In addition to the recently launched AX5 Select variant, the company, just a few days ago, launched the XUV700 MX seven-seater at Rs 14.99 lakh. This makes it the most affordable seven-seater variant in the XUV700 lineup.

The MX seven-seater comes equipped with halogen headlights, a gloss black grille, and 17-inch silver steel wheels. On the inside, it comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto connectivity. It also gets an analogue instrument cluster with a 7-inch MID, and a tilt-adjustable steering wheel.

Prior to these, the company also launched the XUV700 Blaze Edition. This new range-topping edition has been priced at Rs 24.24 lakh. The main highlight of this new model is its dual-tone matte red paint job with Napoli Black accents. The XUV700 Blaze Edition also comes with an all-black interior theme with red stitching and trims.
