Riteish & Genelia Deshmukh buy BMW iX Electric car, their second EV after the Tesla Model X

Riteish Deshmukh who already owns a Telsa Model X has become the owner of a brand-new BMW iX EV. Riteish and his wife Genelia were spotted with the car on the streets of Mumbai. The new BMW iX costs Rs 1.16 crore, ex-showroom.

Riteish and Genelia were spotted alone in the wine-coloured BMW iX. Pictures by carcrazy.india show both of them in the front seats. The iX is the first all-electric SUV from the German brand in the Indian market. It is a fully imported model and comes to India as a CBU. The iX is built on electric-only architecture and it is the top-of-the-line electric car from the brand.

The BMW iX xDrive 40, which is the only variant available in India produces a maximum power of 326 PS and peak torque of 630 Nm. It is a quick SUV too. It can do 0-100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds and can reach a top speed of 200 km/h. The iX xDrive40 gets a dual electric motor set-up. There is one motor placed on each axle, which makes it an AWD.

Can charge in 31 minutes

The iX xDrive 40 comes with a 76.6 kWh battery pack. As per the WLTP cycle, it can do a maximum range of 425 km on a full charge. BMW supplies a 2.3 kW charger that can be used to charge the car to 100 per cent in 7 hours. You can also use DC fast charging with the iX to charge the car from 10 to 80 percent in 73 minutes at 50 kW capacity. If you find a 150 kW charger, it will take only 31 minutes.

The iX sure looks very different from the standard cars. There is an unexpectedly large kidney grille at the front which is sealed off. The car Ritiesh and Genelia were spotted in seems to be the M-Sport variant. It comes with a sharp front bumper and angular design cues with air vents for aerodynamic efficiency. The iX gets 21-inch aerodynamically optimised rims.

The BMW iX gets a hexagonal steering wheel and a massive curved display that houses a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 14.9-inch infotainment display. The iX comes loaded with features including an electrochromic panoramic glass roof, multi-function seats with memory and massage function, bespoke leather upholstery, ambient lighting, BMW virtual assistant, head-up display, wireless charging, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 4-zone climate control, 18-speaker system from Harman Kardon, soft close doors, surround-view camera, reversing assistant and others.

Ritiesh owns a Tesla Model X

The celebrity actor was one of the first Indian owners of Tesla cars. He received the Model X as a gift from his wife Genelia D’Souza. The car is not in India though. The swanky red-coloured Model X was spotted with Riteish several years ago. This car is located in California, USA. Genelia gifted the Tesla Model X to Ritiesh.

The electric car is powered by two different motors. The front-mounted motor produces 255 Bhp and the rear motor produces a maximum power of 496 Bhp. Together, the total torque output is humongous 967 Nm. This is the 90D variant, which comes with the ludicrous mode. It can do 0-100 km/h in blinking fast 3.8 seconds.
