The South Korean automotive giant, Kia India, shook the mid-size segment with the launch of the new Seltos facelift. The company, just like the pre-facelift model, is offering this popular SUV with a number of different powertrains and in different variants. However, to an average person, all of these choices may seem confusing. So, in order to cut down the noise, recently, a video has been shared online. This video explains the differences between the three powertrains of this SUV and helps in picking up the correct variant according to each buyer.

The video of this Kia Seltos variant guide has been shared on YouTube by Gagan Choudhary. In the video, the presenter manages to arrange three of the top-spec variants of this SUV, each equipped with a different drivetrain. He starts with the introduction by explaining the strategy used by Kia when it entered the Indian automotive market back in 2019. He explained that Kia’s strategy involved offering a variant at every price point with different drivetrains so that no buyer leaves empty-handed.

Kia Seltos 1.5-litre IVT

Following the explanation, he starts with the Kia Seltos’ IVT variant. He states that this particular model comes equipped with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes around 114 bhp and 144 Nm of torque. It gets manual as well as an IVT transmission option. He then explains that this is the least powerful variant in the lineup and is for those buyers who want a car that is efficient. He added that people who live in the city, have daily commutes, and do not want anything sporty should go for this variant.

After this, he shows the exterior of the car and mentions that it comes equipped with new brighter LED headlights with LED DRLs. It also gets LED sequential turn indicators on both front and rear, and also the LED DRLs and taillights on the back are connected. He also shows the remote key start feature, which according to him, is a great feature for summers.

The presenter explains that when the car is turned on by the button, it switches on the air conditioner in the last used settings and cools the car beforehand on a hot weather day. After this, he shows the interior of the car and mentions that it comes in a dual-tone shade of beige and black and gets a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. On the inside, he also highlights the Air purifier system.

Kia Seltos 1.5 diesel

Next up, the presenter shows the Kia Seltos equipped with the 1.5-litre diesel engine. He mentions that this engine is one of the most popular diesel engines in India and is extremely quiet and efficient. He then takes a seat inside and shows the luxurious interior of the Seltos diesel. The presenter states that the new Seltos comes equipped with two massive connected screens in front, and the touchscreen infotainment screen is extremely responsive.

He adds that it gets Android Auto and Apple Carplay, 360-degree, and a blind view monitor. He mentions that the blind view monitor displays the camera footage on the instrument cluster, and it is an extremely helpful feature. He adds that the car also gets ADAS features, including front collision avoidance features. The presenter, on the outside, shows the camera and the radar used for the ADAS.

Next up, he talks about the engine specifications of this SUV. He elaborates that this engine in the Seltos is very powerful and the torque on it is amazing. He mentions that even if the car is fully loaded, the power does not feel low, and it can tackle a lot of terrains with that power. He adds that another major highlight of this engine is its fuel efficiency, which according to the company, is 19 kmpl, but personally, after driving the vehicle for 1600 kms, he got an average fuel efficiency of 23 kmpl. The 1.5-litre diesel engine makes around 114 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque.

Finally, the presenter starts with the description of the Seltos X-Line variant, which is the top-spec, most powerful variant of this SUV. He states that apart from all the features of the other variants, it also gets a heads-up display and a unique matte grey color on the outside, along with other sporty bits. Finally, he mentions that the main highlight of this model is its engine, which is a 1.5-litre turbo petrol motor that makes around 160 bhp and 253 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful SUV in its segment. He added that this variant is for the true performance enthusiasts looking for the practicality of an SUV.
