Yamaha R15 V3 gets remote lock/unlock for just Rs. 1,000 [Video]

Remote locking is a feature is common on cars and SUVs. However, that is not the case anymore now, since now even bikes can be equipped with the feature. The Yamaha R15 in the video below has been equipped with a similar system. The bike has even been fitted with keyless ignition and safety alarm, all of which can be controlled with the touch of a button.

The R15 has just received a mild update last week and is now equipped with ABS. The company has decided to go for a dual channel setup rather than the more cheaper single channel setup which many other manufacturers are using. Coming back to the bike featured in the video, the red and black R15 has been fitted with a system which enables it to be remotely locked and also gets keyless ignition along with safety alarm system. All of it can be controlled via a handheld remote that can be used as a keychain too.

Using a button on the remote, one can set the bike to be locked and safety alarm system gets activated. Now if someone tries to insert a key and turn the bike on, the alarm will start too sound. Also, if someone sits on your bike while it is parked and the safety alarm system is set to on, the alarm will start blaring. You can unlock your bike with the help of remote when you are at a distance from it and just ride away when you reach it. Also, the system allows you to get your bike started without using the key. However, keyless ignition requires the handle to be unlocked, because handle lock can only be opened by the key.

The whole system shown in the video can be bought for about Rs. 1,000. Hunting around a bit more can land you an even better deal. The installation procedure too is not much complicated as all the system wiring is pre -done and only the power ends are to be connected to the battery along with proper placement of the parts that come in the package. The whole system not only makes your bike look cool but also enhances its practicality.

The R15 is easily among the most sporty bike in its segment. It is powered by a 155 cc engine that churns out a good 18.7 Bhp of peak power at 10,000 rpm along with a 15 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6 speed manual gearbox, which also offers a slipper clutch for rapid downshifting.

The engine gets liquid cooling, fuel injection and a four valve head among others. The Yamaha R15 V3 is the costliest 150cc motorcycle on sale in India. Yet, demand for the motorcycle is quite high thanks to terrific performance, ravishing looks, plenty of features and excellent quality levels.
