Youth seen sitting on roof of moving Mercedes luxury sedan: Cops take action [Video]

The majority of customers want this feature in their car as it looks aesthetically pleasing. However, we have seen several examples in the past where people have been misusing this feature. It is not the feature itself, but people’s mentality that needs to change. Here, we have a video from Maharashtra where a guy is seen sitting on the roof of a moving Mercedes sedan on a public road. The video has gone viral on the internet, and the cops have now taken action against the offenders.

A video of a young boy sitting on the roof of a Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan surfaced online. According to reports, the incident took place in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Maharashtra. The video shows a young boy enjoying the view while sitting on the roof of the car.

It is not clear whether the car had a sunroof or if he decided to simply sit on the roof of a moving car. Whatever the reason may be, it is an extremely dangerous stunt. Someone traveling behind the Mercedes-Benz on the same road recorded the video and posted it online.

The video went viral immediately, and even the police department became aware of it. Deputy Commissioner of Police Vivek Patil said that they have started an investigation into this matter and strict action would be taken against the offenders.

With the help of resources, the cops managed to track down the vehicle and the driver. The car was then seized by the local police, and both the driver and the person sitting on the roof were arrested. The exact details related to the charges and fines issued against the violators are not known at the moment. The exact reason why he was sitting on the roof is also not known.

At times, people do such stunts for the sake of publicity on social media; however, we do not see the person recording a video anywhere in this clip. This is not the first time we have come across an incident like this in India. However, it looks like people love ignoring rules and like to get in trouble.

Sitting on the roof of a moving car is extremely dangerous, as the person sitting on the roof has no place to hold. If the driver tends to accelerate or apply hard brakes, the person on the roof would definitely lose his balance and would fall on the road. As this stunt was being done on a public road, the chances of the guy falling on the road and getting hit by other vehicles can’t be ruled out too.

The youth was, in fact, putting his own life and the lives of other road users at risk. This is not the first time we have seen people do such stunts on public roads. It should be noted that public roads are not for stunts. If you really want to do such acts, try to do it on a closed road or private property. We hope the offenders have learned their lesson and won’t be repeating the same in the future.

Ignorance about the legal issues and safety, and lax implementation of traffic laws are the main reasons why people get away with these. Without a strong civic sense and awareness, people do not even know what is legal and illegal, and most such behaviours go unpunished on India’s roads.
