All-New 2024 Maruti Swift Arrives At Dealer Yard Ahead Of May 9th Launch

Swift

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the all-new Swift hatchback in India in the next couple of days. The car manufacturer has already started production, and the new Swift has started reaching dealerships too. Over the last few days, we have come across several posts and videos of the new Swift parked at stockyards in different parts of the country. We now have a new set of images that show a mid-spec variant of the Swift at a dealership stockyard.

The images seen here have been shared by Team-Bhp on their website. We see a white-colored Maruti Swift parked with other cars from the manufacturer. We see cars like Maruti Fronx and Grand Vitara parked behind the Swift.

There are a couple of reasons why we feel the car seen here is the mid-spec variant. The hatchback is missing a fog lamp, there is a chrome strip inside the headlamp cluster instead of an LED DRL, and there are no alloy wheels.

Like all other Maruti cars, the manufacturer will be offering the Swift in LXI, VXI, VXI(O), ZXI, and ZXI+ variants. The one seen here looks like the VXI or VXI(O) variant. We see projector headlamps, a gloss black outline on the front grille with a plastic grille. The design or pattern on the grille looks similar to the one we see in Fronx and other Maruti cars.

The clamshell bonnet, black inserts on the fog lamp area, and blacked-out skid plate can be seen here. Coming to the side profile, we see turn indicators mounted on the ORVMs. In the picture, we see the outline of a floating-type touchscreen infotainment system. It needs to be seen if Maruti will be offering a smaller screen for lower variants.

The body-colored door handles, blacked-out pillars, and electrically adjustable ORVMs can all be seen here. As we move to the rear, we notice the smoked-out tail lamps with LED lights in them. This is definitely giving a sporty appeal to the car. On the rear bumper, we see four parking sensors. We do not see rear parking cameras or a rear windscreen wiper and spoiler in this variant.

The exterior design of the hatchback is similar to what Suzuki is offering in the international market. As expected, Maruti has skipped on a lot of features, including ADAS, to keep the cost of the car in check. Maruti Swift has been one of the most popular hatchbacks among buyers in India since its launch in 2005.

Maruti Suzuki Swift is going to be offered with a petrol engine only. It is a brand-new 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated engine that generates 80 Bhp and 112 Nm of peak torque. This new engine generates less power and torque when compared to the older generation model.

However, the engine is tuned in such a manner that it is suitable for city use and returns better efficiency. Maruti will be offering the new Suzuki Swift with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox option. Maruti will also be introducing a CNG version of the hatchback at a later stage. Bookings for the new Swift has already started.
