Mahindra Thar Earth Edition: First Walk around Video

Mahindra, Indian automaker known for their safe and rugged SUV’s, launched Thar Earth Edition on February 27, 2024. Thar Earth Edition is just another variant of the popular off roader Mahindra Thar with some major changes and a completely new theme.

A video uploaded on YouTube by GA Automotive shows the Mahindra Thar Earth Edition in a showroom. This is the first walk around video of new iteration of the popular off roader.

The video shows the car from all around. The host mentions that the Thar Earth is only available in the top model of Mahindra Thar which is LX 4×4 Hard Top. The most major change in the vehicle which anyone will notice is the completely new and different color scheme.

Mahindra Thar Earth Edition Launch Details

The car comes with a new shade called “Desert Fury” which, according to Mahindra, is inspired from the dunes of Thar Desert. This color option is exclusively available only for the Thar Earth Edition.

The host then tells about the engine options in the Thar Earth Edition. The engine options available are the same as the regular Thar. This means Thar Earth Edition is available in 4 configurations, Diesel Automatic or Manual and Petrol Automatic or Manual.

The Petrol engine is a 2.0L turbo unit producing 150 hp and 300 Nm of torque. On the other hand, Diesel engine is a 2.2L unit producing 130 hp and 320 Nm of torque. The variant shown in the video is 2.2L Diesel Manual.

The host then goes on talking about the changes in the exterior of the Earth Edition. These changes include –
• Body colored slats in the front grille.
• Matte black badges all around the car.
• Desert Fury color touches on the alloy wheel.
• Earth edition logo on the B-Pillar of the car.
• Earth edition custom decals on the side which are desert inspired.

Coming to the interior, where the major change lies. The interior design is exactly the same but the entire theme of the interior is changed. The interior follows the theme of Desert Fury and Black as compared to all black interior in the regular Thar.

Key changes in the interior are –
• Desert Fury touches in the door.
• Desert Fury colored surrounds on the AC vents.
• Seats are also covered in the Desert Fury and black cover theme.
• Special pattern on the front headrests inspired from the shifting dunes of Thar Desert.
• Desert Fury accents in the steering wheel.
• All the chrome in the interior changed to dark chrome.

Overall, the Mahindra Thar Earth Edition offers a unique visual package inspired by the Thar desert, with special touches on the exterior and interior while maintaining the powerful engine options and off-road capability of the regular Thar.
