Mahindra Scorpio-N Z8 Select Trim Walkaround Video

Mahindra recently added a new variant of their popular SUV, the Scorpio N. The new Z8 Select trim aims to bridge the gap between top-end Z8 and mid-range Z6 variant, giving buyers more choice.

Launched in March 2024, the Z8 Select variant has already reached the dealership. A YouTube video uploaded by “The Car Show” shows the Mahindra Scorpio-N Z8 Select variant in a walkaround video. The Z8 select variant is placed above the Z6 and below the Z8 trim of the Scorpio N. The host mentions the price range of the SUV, which is Rs. 13.6 lakh to Rs. 24.54 lakh. The Z8 Select variant’s prices start from Rs. 17 lakh. going up to Rs. 19 lakh.

The video starts with the SUV’s frontal design. The grill, headlight setup and fog lights are same as the Z8 Variant. All in all, the front look of the Z8 Select is exactly same as the top model. The host also mentions that Mahindra has introduced a new color on the Scorpio N – XUV700’s Midnight Blue.

Coming to the profile, the car now comes with 17 inch alloy wheels, again same as the Z8 variant. Earlier versions of the SUV were offered with 18 inch alloy wheels. The Z8 Select variant features ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) that can be adjusted electronically. However, these mirrors cannot be folded electronically, which could be a big inconvenience for some. Compared to the Z8, the Z8 Select does not have request sensors, push button start/stop and comes with body colored door handles as compared to chrome ones in Z8 and Z8L variants.

The AdrenoX features are available in the Mahindra Scorpio-N Z8 Select variant, along with a sunroof. Looking at the rear profile, there are no changes compared to the top-end Z8 trim. One thing to note in the rear of all the trims is cost cutting done by Mahindra, All variants of the Scorpio N now get only 2 reverse parking sensors, compared to 4 offered in last year’s variants.

Talking of engine options, the SUV is offered with 2.0 L Turbo Petrol (200 Bhp-380 Nm) and 2.2 L Turbo Diesel engine (174 Bhp and 400 Nm). The car gets 6 speed manual and automatic transmission options. The host is also an owner of Scorpio N and he mentions that the car gives him mileage of about 13 Kmpl.

Stepping inside, the finish of the door pad is same. The Mahindra Scorpio-N Z8 Select trim offers manually adjustable seats while the Z8 comes with electric adjustment. Steering is leather wrapped and the instrument cluster is same as the Z8 variant. Another important feature that the car misses is Auto Dimming IRVM (Inner Rear View Mirror).

The infotainment system comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, paired with a 6 speaker system. The SUV misses out on functions such as Auto AC, Auto Headlamps, dashboard integrated speaker, cooled glove box. Talking safety, the Z8 Select variant comes with 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, Traction control and many more features.

Mahindra has launched this all new variant to cover the large gap between the Z8 and Z6 variant. Earlier, due to the large price gap, buyers would prefer the Z6 variant. With the launch of Z8 Select, buyers now have a completely new option and the freedom to choose a car variant per their needs and budget.
